Corn husk figurines are a typical handcraft product for the Veselí nad Moravou area. At present, several generations of skilled men and women have been making the figurines. The figurines, in addition to the themes of customs, especially Christmas and Easter, also illustrate scenes from everyday life in the village. They feature people at work in the fields and in the household, children at play, musicians, figures from the shops, angels, people at prayer and other motives.From the first half of the 19th century, Blatnice pod Svatým Antonínkem became a centre for the production of mats and later other utilitarian products made of orobince. These products were sold not only in Moravia and Bohemia, but also in Austria, Germany and the Netherlands. From the mid-20th century onwards, in addition to mats, the production of bags, blankets, placemats, dish mats and decorative items also began to be made from orobince.
